Why Aren’t There Pre-Made Pokemon Go Teams?

With everything going on with the Raid update, wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a pre-built team of your favorite 6 Pokemon to battle with? Before Raids were implemented, this would have only applied to gyms. I understand how, at that point of the game, the pre-made 6 team wasn’t all that important. This day and age, it’s extremely relevant and needs to be talked about. I mean, come on Niantic, this is Pokemon. I understand that you let us fiddle with our lineup before the Raid starts, but why can’t there be an option to build many different teams?

Let’s say that there’s a gym right next to you that is loaded up with Water-type Pokemon. Instead of approaching the gym and having my Pokemon be randomly selected, why can’t I build a team of my favorite Grass-types? This would allow me to have a ready-to-go anti-water team at my disposal. The original Pokemon games let you have 6 Pokemon that were completely interchangeable. Even if I can’t have an anti-water, anti-fire, and anti-psychic team, can I at least have just one team I can mess around with?

While the auto-picker for the game looks for what the best picks would be, it sometimes is very wrong. It might auto-select your Charizard when you’re facing off against a Venosaur, but why isn’t my 1300 CP Flareon being recognized and auto-picked? It just doesn’t make sense. Hopefully this is something that Niantic will add in the future, but right now we just don’t know.
