Pokemon Go Worldwide Bloom was a Failure

Although many people were looking forward to the Worldwide Bloom event, it seems as though the event was almost a total failure. While many people did report seeing a drastic increase in grass-type Pokemon, plenty of others said that they saw almost nothing. Reports have even come in of people walking for hours on end, only to stumble across a Paras. This was certainly not what Niantic had planned for the game, but it seems like everything took a turn for the worse.

If Niantic wants the playerbase to grow, they need to do better than this. Players have been dropping like flies recently, and even though there was a spike in play for the Eggstravaganza event, this might have just knocked all of those players back out.

Niantic needs solid events to keep a strong playerbase, or this summer is going to be very rough for the game. Although they did plan on getting the majority of Pokemon Go players back, it looks like this event blew up in their face. They’re going to need something very big to get people back into Pokemon Go the way they were last year.
