It’s fun catching Pokemon. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t have all gone out in full force to catch them. This was the hottest Summer on record, but we were out there every day. In my interactions with the community, you have all been exceptionally friendly, helpful, and kind people. We have all come together to have a good time, and it really shows.
By now, you’ve no doubt found your favorite spot to catch Pokemon. It may have a couple of rare nests. It may have a cluster of Pokestops. It may even just be the closest spot to your home. Regardless, there are places you visit a lot. So, here’s my plea.
Let’s clean those places up. Common spaces, parks, retail centers, malls, etc. While we’re there, why not help tidy up the place while waiting for those Pokestops to regenerate? I’m not saying to bring a pressure washer over, just pick up some litter strewn about. Be careful around the flower beds. Maybe even pick up a few cigarette butts. Let’s turn our good natured spirit toward our communities.
If for nothing else, do it because you’re going to be hanging around for a while. You know you’re going to return to that spot, so why not make sure it looks a bit nicer when you return. A lot of places have been overwhelmed by the sudden influx of traffic. This shows in how trash piles up faster than before and how maintenance issues pop up more frequently. Some of these places are starting to get a sour taste in their mouths about the game and its fans. So please, let’s work together to show our appreciation for our favorite Pokemon destinations. Everyone will thank you for it.
