With events like the Safari Zones and Pokemon Go Fest adding to the excitement, millions or research challenges have been completed. To celebrate this, Developer Niantic has announced a special Ultra Bonus Event.

Announced on the Pokemon Go Live Blog, trainers will soon be able to encounter the legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in Raid battles. They even confirm the potential for shiny variations. To accompany this, Kanto region Pokemon will be more common in the wild and in Raid battles. This event will last from September 13 at 1 PM PDT until September 20, with the Kanto Pokemon lasting until September 30.

But it doesn’t stop there. After the birds have flown the coop, Mewtwo will appear for the first time in Raid battles. Before, his presence was limited to EX Raid battles, now the legendary clone will be available in standard Raids from September 20 until October 23.

They conclude the announcement by telling us that Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and Tauros will be joining the Alolan Pokémon in 7 km Eggs through the end of September. Best get jogging if you want to collect these rare variations.
