The first DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield has been released. And to celebrate, Niantic is releasing Galarian Farfetch’d in the wild for its Pokémon GO debut.

The Isle of Armor is the first paid DLC released for the popular Switch game, Pokémon Sword/Shield. It sends the players to a world of sandy beaches on small islands as they uncover the secret of martial arts. It comes with new Pokémon previously absent from the regional Pokédex, new items, attacks, and more. 

To celebrate its release, Niantic is releasing Galarian Farfetch’d, a regional variant of the Gen 1 bird Pokémon. From the Region of Galar and wielding their Leek like a sword, this variation is Steel instead of Normal Type. Players can also find special event items in the Style Shop based on both the DLC and the Pokémon.

But this isn’t permanent. It’s part of an event that lasts until June 18, 2020.

It’s possible that Farfetch’d will remain in the wild after this event. Niantic did not actually clarify if they intend to vault the variation afterwards. So you better act fast if you want one.
