Unhappy Players: Pokemon Day Delayed

Oops

Niantic Labs has had a rough go of it recently, and this week it’s no different. Pokemon Go players are currently upset with the developer for not being able to deliver on time. As it turns out, Pokemon Day has been delayed, and several Trainers expressed their disappointment on a subreddit.

Cause of Delay

It began when players questioned the spawn rate of Party Hat Pikachu in the game, something which players had been awaiting eagerly since the announcement. According to the Niantic team, players should focus on catching one, since they get to keep the hat even after the event is over.

As of now, no updates have been given out, and Niantic has kept quiet. The cause for the delay hasn’t been explained. Upon searching Pokemon Go’s website, it’s clear they haven’t updated news since February 17.

Are You Upset?

This isn’t the first time Niantic has left players disappointed. This year’s Valentine’s Day event was lacking, and left many players wondering what all the hype was about. As Paul Tassi, contributing writer for Forbes stated:

“The event started, I saw a Porygon two blocks away from me, I walked and caught that Porygon, the end.”

For many, the entire event took five minutes or less to complete. Can something really be called an event, if it’s just a few minutes long, and consists of essentially the same actions as any other day?
