Pokemon GO’s holiday event will likely include the little Santa penguin from gen 2. The Silph Road is a community on Reddit that analyzes Pokemon GO data and information. A Silph Road contributor has found an ad from Pokemon GO in the Taiwanese Google Play Store revealing some of the holiday details.
The ad translates as follows:

Why we love this :

- Catch more than 10 kinds new Pokemons from Hoenn region.
- Discover the present-delivering Pokemon Delibird and a special festival Pikachu.
A sale on items is nothing special, nor does the “10 more Hoenn Pokemon,” though “Star Piece” has our interest. The special festival Pikachu can be assumed to be the Santa Hat Pikachu in the picture, and Delibird is finally coming!
Delibird has been in the game’s files for a while now and remains to be the 1 of 3 Gen 2 Pokemon not yet introduced. Being the holiday-themed ice bird he is, it made the most sense to save him for now.
