The recent Pokemon GO update earlier this month has brought a lot of fun changes. And while we still don’t have battling or trading, there is still a lot to be happy about. Most importantly, we have more than 80 new Pokemon. We also have new items, evolutions, and UI changes. However, there was also another new addition that’s mostly flown under the radar. If you’ve had a chance to go out and catch Pokemon lately, you’ve probably already noticed it.
Did you see that? For those unable to watch videos, what happened is that the Chinchou above gently moved across the screen. This wasn’t the typical jump we’ve seen since launch. Pokemon are now able to drift across the playing field in the middle of an encounter. This can make catching them just slightly more difficult. No matter who great your aim is, if a Pokemon moves out of the way after you toss it, that’s a wasted Ultraball.
This new addition shows that Niantic is still looking into neat and unique ways to add flavor to Pokemon GO. That’s definitely a great sign. While things like new Pokemon and new features are the main focus, adding in these bits of flavor is a fantastic way to add flavor to Pokemon GO. Most excitingly, this addition brings up an interesting question. What other cool tweaks like this are on the horizon?
