Okay, so that Starbucks memo may not have been entirely fake. It may have misspelled the word Pokemon consistently and been a day late, but there does appear to be a deal between Pokemon GO and Starbucks. The two are reportedly teaming up to make 7,800 Starbucks locations into PokeStops and gyms. And yes, there’s a special Pokemon GO themed Frappuccino in the plans as well. This move is to supposedly help build hype for the upcoming generation 2 release.

No longer must we choose between Starbucks and Pokemon
Niantic’s corporate dealings are getting more common by the day. They teamed up with McDonald’s for the Japanese release. More recently, they made a deal with Sprint. Regardless, I’m pretty sure this is the first time such a deal ended up with a special product from the partner. Speaking of which, how would a Pokemon themed Frappuccino even taste? I can’t say for sure, but I’ll definitely be finding out. And when I do, I’ll let you know.
