Pokemon Go Safari Zone Kicks Off Tomorrow!

Niantic is going to be having another large-scale event...

News 21

Niantic is going to be having another large-scale event for Pokemon Go starting on September 16. This event, known as Safari Zone, will be taking place in Europe , specifically Oberhausen (Germany), Les Quatre Temps in Paris (France), and La Maquinista in Barcelona (Spain). At these events, trainers will receive an in-game medal and special 2 km eggs from each of the PokeStops found around the shopping centers. Lures will be active in these areas for the entire day, allowing players to catch many Pokemon, including Kangaskhan, Chansey, Larvitar, and plenty more. There is even a chance for players to encounter Shiny Pikachu, Skiny Magikarp, and different forms of Unown.

Due to the event being based around capturing rare Pokemon, Gym and Raid Battles in the area will be deactivated for the entirety of the event. This will allow players to focus more on the Pokemon surrounding them, rather than distracting them with common Raid Battles and Gym fights. A ticket is required to get into the event area, however that isn’t the only way to capture some serious Pokemon on September 16.

If you live in the cities where these events are taking place, rare Pokemon will be spawning in around you all day long. The major downside is that you won’t be able to benefit from endless lures all day like the event attendees will. Either way, this is a great way to capture some Pokemon that you may not have seen before, whether you’re able to attend the event or not.
