The next Community Day is here, and it brought the lovely little Larvitar with it. The powerful rock and ground type Pokémon is the star of the event, making it (and it’s third evolution) potentially the most powerful Pokémon to come out of Community Day yet. This mini-godzilla is powered up by Partly Cloudy and Sunny weather, perfect for the summer season in the States.

The official date is June 16, 2018. During the event, trainers will gain triple experience for every Pokémon caught. Any Larvitar captured during the event will also know a special move, otherwise unavailable on the Pokémon. The move is currently unknown, but the community speculates that it might be Smack Down. The official announcement is as follows.

If you’re looking for a powerful addition to your team, this Community Day is a must. the evolved Tyranitar is one of the strongest Pokémon there is, rivaling the power of even legendaries.

The code files for a shiny Larvitar are in the game code, and have been for a while. So there’s a chance you’ll see one at this event.
