Are you a pretty good trainer? Do you win most battles you participate in? Are you look for another chance to prove your skills? Well, get ready. Season 2 of the GO Battle League is about to begin. Here’s everything you need to know.
Previously on Go Battle League
In the first season of the GO Battle League, 500 of the best trainers were entered into the official leaderboard. They participated in an event full of battling, enjoying special rewards and achievements, and rising themselves in the ranks, showing their place as some of the best trainers in the world.
Season 2 Timeline
The second season will begin on May 1, 2020, and will be broken into three leagues and one battle cup.
- The Great League will run from Friday, May 1, 2020, to Monday, May 25, 2020.
- The Ultra League will run from Monday, May 25, 2020, to Monday, June 15, 2020.
- The Master League will run from Monday, June 15, 2020, to Monday, June 29, 2020.
Running concurrently with the Master League will be the GO Battle League Cup, a first for the game. It will operate similarly to the Master League, but legendary and Mythical Pokémon will not be allowed.
What Stays the Same
Like in Season 1, the second season will feature a number of unique changes to the rules to better fit the current social situation. To start, the walking and PokéCoin requirements have been waived. The rewards based on Pikachu Libre and Metacross will still be a Rank award.
Having learned from the past, Niantic has made a number of changes for Season 2. This is primarily tweaks to when Pokémon reward encounters appear. It also includes some battle balance changes to attacks. For the full details, visit Niantic’s change list.
When is Season 3
Season 3 will begin Monday, July 6, 2020. Expect some minor changes similar to the ones seen in Season 2.
