Niantic has revealed what the next 1 PokéCoin bundle will be in Pokémon GO. And for the next week, players can purchase 50 Great Balls for the equivalent of one cent.
The developers have been making an effort to make Pokémon GO a more valid “play at home” experience while many places are under lockdowns and stay at home orders. One of the ways they’re doing this is by offering a variety of supplies, usually only obtainable from PokéStops, in a minimal cost bundle.
This time, the item will be 50 Great Balls for the cost of 1 PokéCoin.
A premium currency, PokéCoins can be purchased as a microtransaction at a rate of 100 coins for 1 dollar. With these bundles costing 1 coin, that’s the same as a penny in USD.
The Great Ball bundle is available now to all players. It will stay that way until Monday, April 27, 2020. At that time, it will be replaced by a new bundle. Niantic has been cycling out items in this special bundle, ranging from balls to berries to insense.
This has been a rather considerate and clever take on making the game viable during the quarantine. By providing a relatively easy way to get materials, players don’t have to break stay at home orders to go collect PokéStop rewards.
